CILS Exam Calendar

The CILS Certification is an officially recognized qualification that certifies the level of linguistic and communicative competence in Italian as a second language (L2). The CILS Certification was the first Italian language certification to adopt the six-level system of linguistic-communicative competence proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe, and to develop specific certification modules for workers of foreign origin in Italy.

The CILS Centre is an institutional member of EALTA (European Language Testing Association) and an affiliate member of ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe). These are two associations whose aim is to promote knowledge of language testing and assessment practices in Europe. Through these affiliations, the CILS Centre is committed to ensuring an ethical management of the assessment process for all parties involved.

In 2004, CILS received an important recognition: the European Language Label, a quality award that acknowledges the most significant and innovative projects in the field of language teaching.
